The multi-anvil apparatus, especially Kawai-type multi-anvil apparatus, is widely used high-pressure apparatus in geoscience. Its large-sample volumes allow us to control the chemical and physical conditions very well, which renders it possible to obtain reliable knowledge about the physical and chemical properties of the geomaterials at high pressure and temperature conditions.
Multi-anvil apparatus is a popular high-pressure apparatus to obtain reliable data about physical and chemical properties of minerals under high-pressure and high-temperature conditions relevant to the deep mantle. We expect that we can expand variety of experiments by the following technical developments, whose projects are partly described above.
Generation of over 60 GPa by multi-anvil apparatus using carbide anvils [Ishii et al.,
